Congratulations to Adelee! She was recognized at the Nov. 19th Board Meeting as the 2018 Superintendent’s Holiday Card Winner. Her design was featured on Mr. Hawkins’s Holiday Card and sent to families across the county.

Artists use art to convey an idea, feeling, and meaning.
We’ll make art for someone whom we are thankful. We will create art that will have meaning to them.
Fourth and fifth grade students are creating large-scale pop art sculptures inspired by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje VanBruggen. We painted boxes white, drew the designs, and painted with realistic colors.

New art supplies have arrived! We’re enjoying new materials like metallic crayons and kinetic sand.

Mark your calendars! Southside students will participate in the 2019 Francisco Farm Art Fair.

Fourth and fifth grade students learned about Lexington artist, Lennon Michalski. They learned he layers acrylic paints to create stunning color mixtures. Fifth graders could choose to use canvas and fourth could use paper. We started our first layers of acrylic paint. More to come later!
